Hello, I'm Chloé a dedicated Swiss-American art psychotherapist committed to nurturing emotional well-being in children and families. With over a decade of experience in Singapore, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals aged 4 months to 97 years in various settings, including private practices, schools, shelters, special needs centers, and corporate wellness programs. I hold a Master’s degree in Art Therapy with clinical training in the psychotherapeutic process of art-making, am a Professional Member of the Art Therapists’ Association Singapore (ATAS), and provide therapy in both English and French.

Throughout my journey, a common challenge caught my attention – many children miss out on essential early mental health support due to the stigma and intimidating atmosphere surrounding traditional clinics. This realization inspired me to establish Haven Art Therapy, where we're reshaping the therapeutic experience. Described as a therapy in a playspace, our aim is to eliminate the stigma often associated with clinical settings. We're all about breaking down barriers tied to therapy.

As a therapist, my approach is centered on the child, with each intervention tailored to their unique needs. I firmly believe in the transformative power of a creative and safe space for self-expression, where children can feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are, fostering emotional resilience in the process. The best part? Children genuinely enjoy coming to therapy. I also actively collaborate with parents, schools, and other professionals, a key aspect of my practice to ensure comprehensive support for your child.

Hello, I’m Marian, a registered art therapist with over 4 years of clinical art therapy experience, and more than 10 years supporting individuals and families across healthcare and community settings, and across age groups - from young children to the elderly.

I work closely with children and teens, and also support adults and seniors, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can express and process their inner experiences - especially when words are difficult to find. I bring a calm, grounded presence shaped by years of working across healthcare settings.

My journey into art therapy was shaped by my earlier experiences as a medical social worker, where I witnessed many individuals - including those with speech or neurological challenges - struggle to express deeply held emotions verbally, and the profound impact of creative and non-verbal methods in helping individuals cope with life’s challenges. This led me to pursue a Master’s in Art Therapy, recognising the power of creative, non-verbal expression in healing.

I hold a Master’s in Art Therapy from LASALLE and a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Social Work from National University of Singapore (NUS). I am a registered Art Therapist (AThR) with ANZACATA, and provide therapy in English and Mandarin Chinese.

My clinical experience included supporting children and teens at Children’s Cancer Foundation, as well as school-based emotional and behavioural programmes. I worked with adults and seniors across healthcare settings including Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, and the social service agency O’Joy, where my work spanned psychosocial support, crisis care, and the facilitation of art-based therapeutic groups. I also supported individuals and families in palliative care, incorporating art therapy into life review, legacy-making, and emotional support.

I draw upon psychodynamic, systemic, and person-centred approaches in supporting clients in their healing journey, and believe in creating safe, trusting spaces where clients feel supported to explore their inner world. Through the use of art and creativity, I help clients gain insight and understanding of themselves, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. I see therapy as a collaborative journey - walking alongside clients as they discover strength and meaning in their experiences.

Chow Shan Shan

Art Psychotherapist & Pyschotherapist
MA, Registered Art Psychotherapist
MA Art Therapy and BA (NUS Singapore)
AThR (ANZACATA)

Hello, I’m Shan Shan, an art therapist who believes that art can offer children a gentle and meaningful way to understand themselves, express what may be difficult to put into words, and grow in confidence from within. I hold a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Australia and a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore (NUS). I am a registered Art Therapist (AThR) with ANZACATA, and provide therapy in English and Mandarin Chinese.

I have supported children, adolescents, and adults across school, hospital, and community mental health settings. This includes working with students navigating social isolation, school-related difficulties, and emotional challenges; adolescent inpatients with complex medical needs; and carers through online art therapy. These experiences have shaped my belief that every child carries exceptional strengths, and that therapy works best when children feel safe, respected, and gently empowered.

My own relationship with art has been deeply formative. Art has helped me slow down, reflect, make sense of my inner world, and reconnect with parts of myself that were once hidden or hard to name. Because of this, I see art not only as a creative activity, but a space for self-discovery, self-expression, and determination.

My approach is strength-based, trauma-informed, and child-centred. I strive to meet each child where they are, using playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy to support emotional resilience, social engagement, and the confidence to find their own voice. I value giving children choices in the creative process, as I believe this can help them experience a sense of agency, ownership, and trust in themselves.

I am committed to continuous learning and reflective practice. Alongside my trauma-informed training, I am currently deepening my skills in play therapy so that I can better support children in ways that feel natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. At the heart of my work is the hope that each child can feel seen, heard, and accepted as they are, while discovering new ways to express themselves, connect with others, and grow through life’s challenges.

"We are just really immensely grateful towards our therapists for supporting us on this journey. Both ladies, for sure, are experts in this field. They gave expert advice, took time to really listen to our needs and held space for my tears and difficult feelings. I was able to function in everyday tasks, knowing I have them in my supportive 'village'.

Never once was I made to feel I was overly-sensitive or too much. I always leave sessions feeling calm and at ease. The carefully-curated art materials and the calming space leave me wanting more. Expert-guidance, calming space and warm-hands (figuratively and literally) are what you could expect at Haven. Thank you again ladies - Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

Not forgetting the seamless admin support from the Haven Team as well. Thank you."
